Swords and Sandals Immortals will feature full online PVP multiplayer, a large single player campaign and tons of items and content. Many people say you can't make "larger" games with Godot but so far I'm not finding this an issue at all. though hugely powerful of course.įor 2D games, I have found Godot to be an absolute joy to work with and a natural successor to Flash for making great games fast. I'm going to post here on the thread in the coming months and weeks as I show interesting techniques and things I've found along the way though my Godot journey.Īs a long time Flash developer, I struggled with Unity for a year or so and even released one S&S game on the Nintendo Switch with it, but I just found its design philosophies to be not so aligned with my own - in short it was just so bulky and unwieldy. When I stumbled across Godot late last year it really piqued my interest and I started learning the engine in February this year.
For (too many) years I made the games using at first Flash, then AIR and Starling ( a GPU accelerated version of Flash that can be ported to iOS/Android/Steam etc).
